VIO: POV.1 Helmet Camera
Sunday, 04 May 2008 02:59

I came across this lil' rig at shotshow and was luckily able to pick one up to sample. I have some experience in other helmet cameras and I liked how the POV is setup as a great all in one package. Everything else out there on the market relies on a 3rd party recorder solution which means it isn't going to be MIL-Spec and not necessarily made for what you need with missing or needless features. The POV project is actually a part of a multi-year agreement with ARL (Army Research Laboratory) to research and develop wearable video technology for military and law enforcement applications. This further sets the POV apart from the others in which it has been made from the ground up to be rugged and easy to use.

COUNTY COMM: TSAR Tritum Dive watch by Marathon and Zulu watch bands.
Sunday, 13 May 2007 02:57

I need to take more pictures of this sweet watch, but thought I would get something up for now. This watch is known as a NASA diver's watch, but many other servicemen enjoy the watch for its stylish looks and bombproof like construction. Features are straight forward including hour, minute, second, day , and a bezel for elapsed time. One of the features that sets this watch apart from others in its class is the TSAR uses tritium vials rather than tritium paint.

5.11 TACTICAL FIELD OPS WATCH: Rugged watch with ballistic computer
Monday, 02 April 2007 02:56

I don't have a lot of experience with watches so I was pretty easy to impress with the Field Ops watch. All the materials feel nice and rugged with a high-density polycarbonate frame. Even though it is a big-honkn' watch, I was able to put it on without issue or any offhand worry of banging it on my environment. The main thing that sets this apart from most watches would be the SureShot™ ballistic calculator and digital compass.

HELMET CAMERA XTREME PLUS KIT: 560 resolution version
Saturday, 01 July 2006 02:19

<www.helmetcamera.com>

For my work I did a hunt for some helmet cams and had this one recommended to me by a SF acquaintance. After some research it was clear this kit comes with the most rowdy camera shell available. Most things I needed came with the kit except I had to get a camcorder in which I ended up with an el cheapo Sony HC-30 since it was small and I didn't care it lacked manual features since it was going to be a helmet cam recording slut. I also had to get the LANC external on/off button separately.
