  • 5.11-TACTICAL Tactical Long Sleve Shirt - Cotton

This shirt makes for a nice fusion of a common work shirt and a BDU shirt. This version is mostly comprised of 5.4-oz. cotton canvas, but 4.7-oz. nylon ripstop is also available. Cargo style pockets are on the chest along with great side opening velcro chest pockets. The left shoulder has 2 sleeves for pens or similar items and the reinforced collar has a button down ability.

  • 5.11-TACTICAL Tactical Polo, Short Sleeve

Similar to the pro-polo, this shirt variant includes mi-clip pockets on the shoulders and a mic-clip loop is placed at the bottom of the placket at the sternum level. Comprised of 100% smooth cotton interlock fabric causes this shirt to be a little stretchy helping ease of movement. Like on the other polo, the no-roll collar and pen slot on the left sleeve are standard. Will not shrink, is very fade and wrinkle resistant. The shirt is also a good platform for silkscreen and embroidery. Mostly just law enforcement colors are currently available.

  • 5.11-TACTICAL Tactical Vest

Sorry I know the placement is confusing, but despite the name, most of my visitors do not think of this item when they hear tactical vest. In the past these vests have been known as safari or photo vests. For a low weight vest, this is great for the range. I can't say I like to look very much and it is by no means low-profile, but the pocket placement makes it functional and easy to use.

  • 5.11-TACTICAL TDU Belt 1.5" Plastic

Based on the original TDU belt, but with a light yet durable plastic buckle for ease of use going through airports with no hassle. Clean execution and more than enough to keep your pants up.

  • 5.11-TACTICAL TDU Pant - Ripstop

Although I had some sizing issues with these at first, I'm really digging these pants now. One of the unique features that works well for most, is the self adjusting elastic waist. Sadly this part didn't work out too good for me. I got my desired size and everything fit how I wanted, but the elastic was putting some serious pressure on me. After a little thought, I decided to cut the frontal elastic. Luckily on the design it still keeps the side elastic and pants structure intact.

  • 5.11-TACTICAL Trainer belt

The trainer belt is a solid BDU style belt with a custom harness adapter (metal hardware) instead of the usual surplus one. A generous portion of velcro allows for ease in adjustability and security of your extra slack. The end has been rounded off and coated or heat treated so it won't fray. This particular belt is fairly flexible for comfort and is 1.5" wide while the 5.11 Operator belt is 1.75" wide and more stiff. Although mostly meant for holding up your pants, if it came down to it, this belt could withstand the user's full body weight and then some.

  • 5.11-TACTICAL Utili-T Crew, Three Pack

Another simple, but great product. 100% ringspun, 4.5-oz. cotton makes this shirt soft and comfortable. The shirt also has moisture-wicking properties to help keep the sweat off you when commonly used as a under-shirt. There is plenty of length so tucking in is easy and your able to adjust bagginess. The tag is printed rather than sewn guaranteeing no tag annoyance. Sold in 3 packs and crew or v-neck, these are very practical and affordable. Currently available in white, black, ACU-UCP tan, and navy.

  • 5.11-TACTICAL XPRT 8" Patrol Boot

5.11 offers up another piece to their footware line with the big selling point on this guy is the high strength composite kick toe. The shape and material used for the kick toe are a great compromise of protection and flexibility for comfort. Traditionally boots like these would have steel toes resulting in pretty low comfort levels. The core of the XPRT design is that of a deluxe well constructed and padded boot. The "Shock Mitigation System™" includes a fairly plush insole insert. Due to the materials and padding thickness it may be a bit hot in hot climates, but generally makes for a good urban boot.

  • 511 / Blade-tech:Training Pistol Barrel - Sig 226

This is a straight forward item that assists in training safety and identification. To install ones just breaks their gun down and replaces their real barrel with this one. No tools or wacky techniques are required further than what your weapon already required. Once in, there is no way for bullets to be chambered so the weapon is completely safe even with live magazines inserted. When in normal slide forward mode, the training barrel can easily be seen with all of its bright yellow glory in the ejection port area and muzzle end. Alternatively, when the slide is back, more of the barrel is visible while the ejection port yellow can only be seen from the rear.

  • 511 Tactical All Hazards Prime Backpack

This year 5.11 has definitely picked up their game on their tactical gear line with this "All Hazards Prime" pack being a great example. Prime is about one word longer than I'd say, but perhaps it is their way of saying Rush 24 super turbo champion edition. Joking aside, everything I saw from 5.11 at shotshow displayed considerable design refinements which is a great sign that 5.11 is making a true modern gear effort and not a half assed one. The All Hazards pack is certainly feature rich so get ready for a long ride on my attempt to break it all down.

  • 511 Tactical Apex Belt - T-Rail and Gunner's Belt

Although not super new, I'm a fan of these type belts so good to see 511's take on them. The style made popular by the Liger belt, these Apex belts have a nice upgrade of having 2 hooks to prevent buckle rotation.

  • 511 Tactical Wyldcat Pants

I was pretty excited when I got these pair of pants, as I really liked the Raven leggings. (Although they are a bitch to peel off.) Unlike Monkey I’m not really a tactical girl, but he wanted me to try some functional pants to see how they would work for me.

  • LA POLICE GEAR Operator Boots

LAPoliceGear.com has been expanding their own product line recently including footwear with the addition of the Operator Boots. The design goal was to make a lightweight boot that has the durability operators expect, but at a great price. I'll have to agree LA Police Gear did just that. To be fair on this review, let me warn you that I got the smallest possible, size 7, but I'm about a 6.5 area. Thus I wear double socks or add in odor pads to get the fit I need.
