HATCH Knee Pads WC:

Details
Category: Protective
Created: Monday, 04 September 2006 05:00

Simple and Affordable classic knee pads. Overall offer good protection and cushioning with nice flexibility. Since I'm <monkey> sized I can't tighten these as much as I would like and rely on the specwargear pants with knee pad retention system. Otherwise these guys go straight to my ankles after a sprint. Earlier I tried attaching surgical tubing from my belt to the pad strap which apparently caused a lot of stress on the pads breaking one buckle and starting to rip one of the sew points as shown in the pics.

HATCH Elbow Pads WC:

Simple and Affordable classic elbow pads. My <monkey> size also fights me on this product with the straps not having enough velcro to cinch as far as I would like. Thus after vigorous activity they tend to shift. When I get them in the right place, they can work quite well, but when shifty they can make bending one's arm abrasive. Which is hard to avoid when using guns all day long.

SPECWARGEAR : Pants
-I need to take pics and do a propper review, but wanted to make sure and note that I have 2 specwargear pants which I've been wearing constantly for about a year and I find them to be the best full featured pants I've ever used, and so far seen.

ICE-TACTICAL Advanced BDU Pants MC:

-Took forever to get these, but finally got them in recently. I'll be beating up on them so I can give a more thorough review, till then here are some first impressions. I enjoy the nice big side pockets and I find the back pockets to be an improvement over the CP style ones with a bonus pull tab and uses 2 pieces of velcro rather than 1. The double way zipper is clearly a win for droppn liquids on demand.

MULTI-CAMO Crye Precision replica BDU top and pants

Since the ICE TAC pants took so long to get I assumed I had been robbed, I ordered up some Chinese Crye Precision replica pants. After shipping and all of that, the BDU top was only $15 more if I got it, so I went ahead and scored that too. For starters, yes I said multicamo which is apparently what they are calling the Chinese copy of multicam. Since I don't own orignal CP I can only talk about what I have, but they do appear to have all pockets/features of the original CP BDUs.

MULTI-CAMO - MULTICAM : Quick comparision

Details
Category: Clothing
Created: Tuesday, 08 August 2006 05:17

-While here I bet you are wondering what the difference of this so called multicamo is from multicam. I don't have a huge swatch, but I did see key patterns that hint towards a near exact copy rather than a remix. Upon first view, the multicamo is a little more saturated and just looks "new". After a couple washes, I bet the colors will be extremely similar. You can't tell unless you are about 2 feet away, but other notable differences are that the multicamo fades are a little more "dotty". Also some parts have edge halos of color change in which the dark browns can get a little lighter and the greens can get a little darker.

ICE TACTICAL Battle Belt MC:

Details
Category: Belts
Created: Monday, 17 July 2006 04:51

Shown here with a TT duty belt, this is a pretty sweet ride when it comes to padded duty belts. There is velcro in the belt placement pockets to help hold in your velcro equipped duty belt, but it was damn near impossible to get this TT one in there due to the velcro on velcro party. A simple webbing belt was included as seen on pic 2 which is a bit easier to take on and off since it lacks velcro. I hope to get some custom drop legs on this setup soon and see if my hips hold it up well enough to not need suspenders.
*As a quick update I've used this belt with 2 droplegs without suspenders and found it overall pretty comfortable.

TACTICAL TAILOR Zipper Utility Pouch MC:

Details
Category: Pouches

DIM: 7" x 5" x 4"
Good general purpose sized pouch with original intent for medical supplies. Elastic on the inside helps hold down goodies and external pocket is great for smaller stuff such as pens. A little velcro is exposed under a closed flap for enough room for a fun meter or medic patch. By default the metal zippers are rowdy big and clang up a storm so I wrapped them in 550. A Coyote zipper would also be an improvement over the black. Ballistic material on the inside, Malice clips included.

TACTICAL TAILOR Modular Drop Leg Rig Large OD

Details
Category: Vests / Platforms
Created: Monday, 17 July 2006 02:24

Nicely padded Drop leg with non-slip material on the whole back side. Being <monkey> sized, I've attached 2" SRBs (not included) to the ends and then connect them to my plate carrier. Otherwise even when fully tightened, this leg rig rides low enough when connected to a belt that it interferes with knee pads. Even so, for casual use I still rock these on airplane trips to increase my carry on capacity. I hope to find time to make some drop legs where they can be raised higher on one's leg than others on the market.

DIM: 5.5" x 5.5" x 2.5"
Notes: Fairly small pouch, but good divisions. OD has more of a smoke green color than most gear. Depending on where you buy, Malice Clips are not always included. Solid lil' pouch for your belt or even as an small admin pouch.
