COUNTY COMM 10X21 SPY MONOCULAR

6.5 degree field of view, made by NcSTAR

Picked this lil guy up for viewing targets on the range and to generally see things further away on trips since I don't have a super zoom lens on my camera. Since it is so small I can toss it in my pocket or most gear with no hassle. Stores flat and is turned 90 degrees to make it ready to use (aka view things right side up). The red end points to what you want to see and clear end goes to your eye. The eyepiece is turned to adjust focus. It appears things need to be at least around 25 feet away to be focusable. I don't know why, but I thought I had to hold it a certain way to be right side up at first.

Soon I learned it doesn't matter and you can rotate it however you wish. I found having the eyepiece sticking out to the the left and the viewpiece perpendicular down worked the best for me. This way one can get in really close to their eye. On that note, this is necessary to get a nice full view. I found letting the monocular rest in my hand made for a more steady view than trying to hold it mostly with my fingers. Holding steady and focusing can be a bit of a task, but the skill improves with use. It comes with a little carry pouch that is pretty cheesy, but whatever, it is free. The whole thing is only $10 so one's mind can be at ease and don't have to treat it like their preciouseses (Gollum voice). Wish I didn't have to put it basically on my eyeball to see a good sized view, but the view is nice and clear, especially for the price.
