Camelbak has a good number of hydration carriers, but the Armorbak is the first optimized with the design intent to go on tactical vests. The majority is made of 500D cordura and is generally low profile with no additional pouches or compartments. To mount the Armorbak, 4 repair SRBs are used to attach to PALS webbing. Once connected the straps can be tightened to create pressure if desired which is great for spraying.
A 1" strip of loop velcro is on the exterior for name tape mounting and a webbing loop is up top for hanging. The Armorbak package includes the OMEGA Water Beast 102oz Reservoir which is fancy in of itself including the Big Bite valve and Hydrolink valve cover. I found the on/off switch easy to use preventing drips and it is a bonus to see most parts are modular to allow easy replacement if any parts get broken or funky. The carrier has a hose port in the upper back allowing left or right side use and a grommet is at the bottom just in case your adventures get you wet. Although not a deal breaker I found it odd there was no internal loop to hang the bladder on. If you want it bad enough you can force the external loop through the hose port, but it does not appear this was intended.
For the lightfighters out there this is a great tight package. The weight and bulk is trimmed down as much as possible while still being ready for a military pounding. Most importantly the Armorbak includes everything you need to immediately mount and get your hydration on.
