Toy Soldier Workshop brings us another unique pouch. The size and the mounting options turn this pouch into a specialty GP pouch. A good assortment of random small and medium things will fit inside, but one example could be to use it as a small medical pouch. The size is approx 8"L x 4.5"H x 2.5"D of course varying on how much you stuff in there. Construction on this one was overall solid with the main material being 1000D cordura.

Maxpedition Larkspur and Gleneagle Messenger Bags

Messenger bags have been around for a while and have certainly gained popularity for the past decade due to their simple yet diverse carry capability design. Teaming up with EGL (Extreme Gear Labs), Maxpedition now offers some unique variants to cater to the tactical and hard use markets. Currently 2 models are available; the Larkspur and the Gleneagle. Although the Larkspur is labeled as small I think most would consider it a beefy medium and the Gleneagle is labeled Large which it certainly is. Since both bags feature all the same core design features I have put them together for a dual review.

This 3 bag series came about with the concept of simple general purpose shoulder bags. Quality is of course the usual high standards expected from Maxpedition, however pricing is more affordable by keeping extra pockets and compartments minimal. The three sizes covers a good spread of filling user needs so there is pretty much something for everyone. This pouch is now around to expand the Maxpedition padded line for those who want something in more of a large GP size. At this size you can get into larger electronics such as hand camcorders. Of course feel free to get crafty and fit whatever items you want inside to have a cushy ride. If attached directly to the body the padding can also make wearing more comfortable for long hauls. The main opening double zippers are done reversed style and work nice and smooth.

OTB Boots - Thor TC Boot

Mister Thor Boot here has an interesting design intent which was made specifically with Special Forces in mind. The idea is to have a boot where operators can insert into the area of operations and be covert capable in which the boots appear civilian in nature. The attention to details and heavy duty materials used separate the Thor from typical hiking boots to make them tactical ready.

Zulu Mega Admin Pouch

As you may have guessed I'm a fan of admin pouches so it was cool to check out this larger design by Zulu Nylon Gear. Hence the name, Mega, the size is no messing around and takes up the upper chest area on a typical tactical vest. Depending on your load out, placing lower on top of rifle magazine pouches is another common mounting location.

Starting with the exterior there is elastic webbing on both frontal sides and on the bottom. The sides work great for chem lights and pens while the bottom can accommodate thicker items such as medical gear or folding knives. With a little elbow greese you can even get a full size CAT tourniquet in there on the bottom.

ITW MILITARY - FASTmag GEN III

DIMS: approx 3.125" W x 4.25" H x 1.25" D (not counting PALS fins)

I've been quite the fan of the GEN II and based on user feedback and requests GEN III has recently come about. Down East Inc is still the main design crew while ITW distributes and markets the FASTmag. I'd say the largest change is that GEN III is now stackable and to assist in this, 2 versions are offered with one having PALS stabilizer pads and one without. The one with stabilizers is intended to be the main platform while the version without is for stacking or wearing on a belt.
