NON Review newsflash:

A bold step forward in .50 caliber sniper systems

The similarity of weapon platforms has muddled the current market with a great deal of confusion as to what differences may be inherent in certain designs that might provide a better purchase and drive quality results. A new .50 BMG rifle may be a dime a dozen with the current market and new companies forming every day, but every so often, something fresh, unique and exciting comes along.

Sixell Innovations - Never Quit Grip

The Never Quit Grip is an interesting lil' addon as grabbing the magwell of an AR-15 platform rifle is somewhat of a controversial subject. Some instructors feel the weapon should always be handled by the secondary hand further out to give better "drive" handling of the rifle or other balance issues. In my opinion, if anyone cares :), I think it is good to have options. When shooting from unusual positions such as vehicles, foxholes, windows or whatever, grabbing the magwell can make for a sweet grip. Depending on the length of the weapon, the magwell grip can also make for a great feel of weapon balance whether it be blasting or just carrying.

N-Vision Optics NVAT (Night Vision Adapter for TwistMount)

Details
Category: Optics
Created: Sunday, 26 July 2009 20:37

NEWSFLASH - NONREVIEW:
N-Vision Optics NVAT (Night Vision Adapter for TwistMount™) enables the rifleman to switch between his Aimpoint® 3XMag or Concealed Engagement Unit (CEU) and the AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular in less than 5 seconds with no tools required.
NVAT Adapter allows for the AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular (or compatible) to snap on directly to the Aimpoint® TwistMount™ Base in place of the 3XMag or CEU.
N-Vision Optics NVAT adapter correctly aligns AN/PVS-14 with the Aimpoint® night vision compatible sights (Comp-series) when sights are mounted in the Aimpoint® QRP Ring with Spacer. The adapter will also co-align the AN/PVS-14 with most night vision compatible EOTech sights when they are mounted directly to the upper receiver.
NVAT is compatible with all back-up iron sights and is proudly made in the USA out of the aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum and hard coated to the most stringent Mil-Spec requirements (Type 3, Black).

OSOE: Binocular / Camera Strap

Details
Category: Slings
Created: Sunday, 26 April 2009 04:28

This is a simple and effective strap for your fancy camera or pair of biznocs. I'm a camera totn' dude, I mostly use it for that. To mount, the strap has 550 cord ends to go through the strap mounts. Since mounts are pretty slim on the cameras, I was thinking "good fucking luck!" at first, however was able to ram the cord on through with some poking effort. This is a security bonus since most straps have little ladders or triglides for mounting which can break or loosen.

Tactical DuoStock

The DuoStock has been around for a bit, but I haven't seen a whole lot about it on the nets. My buddies at BreachBangClear got one my way as they use and recommended it. From what I hear, people tend to love or hate this thing. I tried my best to be neutral, but I did see examples where people didn't want to try it based on looks alone. I will have to say it does look a bit dated and could use some more rounded edges. In the end however, it functions as advertised. Although it has the basic features most stocks have such as adjustable length and sling attachment points, the big design spotlight is the curved end.

Garrett Industries (designed by Tucker): Silent Thunder Pistol Holster

This isn't the most intuitive section placement, however I thought it was the best place until I make a holster section. While getting the GI SLMC I also picked up one of these Silent Thunder holsters. The main concept was to use the great qualities of a kydex holster and to add leather on the inside so give smooth and quiet functionality. The final product is very professionally done and succeeds in its design goals. Each one is made weapon specific with hand dominance and a choice of mounting option.

VTAC:Light Mount Gen 2 Prototype

Category: Accessories
Created: Sunday, 31 August 2008 04:25

My buddy Kyle Lamb passed on one of his latest products my way to get a sneak peek. You might be familiar with VTAC's current light mount which is a nice cost effect way to mount a tactical light on picatinny rails. They are made of some fancy PVC based material that is light, but still heavy duty durable. On this latest version the screw setup is a bit easier now and Kyle wanted me to make sure and note that on the final version the T-nuts will be changed to snap in.
